WHATS OCCURRING?

14 July 2008

We have actually been invited somewhere.  Priory Springboks are having an informal barbeque at their place on Wednesday night starting at 8pm.  If anyone fancies going please make yourself known.  Theres probably  loads of free drink, free food and I believe they have some Eastern European pole-dancers lined up as well.  I think  there is also another team attending.

13 June 2008

We have two Twenty20 games coming up over the next two weeks.  We are due to play Southern Railway next Thusday 19th June 2008.  The game is being held at Wallington Cricket Ground, Mollison Road, Wallington.  Start time 5.30ish.

The following week we have a game at Priory Springboks in Banstead.  Wednesday 25th June at 5.30ish.  These are our only two Twenty20 games this year so please try and make yourselves available for selection.

3 June 2008

News in from the Priory Springboks match on Sunday.  During their innings, they lost two wickets in successive balls.  As lady luck would have it,  who should stride in to face the hat-trick ball?  Yep.  Noel Medici.  Without a single run to his name this year.  Fallen hero and the hot favourite to win this years duck race.  They say you dont know how good a champion is until you see how he responds to defeat.  Cometh the hour, cometh the man.  To find out how he got on, click on the link below.  Way to go Noel.

6 MAY 2008

In keeping with tradition, incoming captain Richard Bailey has released his pre-season address to his troops.  Click on the link below if you can be arsed.  It sounds a bit familiar.

BAILEYS PRE-SEASON ADDRESS

April 27th

There is talk of the squad becoming school playground heroes with a set of Panini style stickers available. Early indications look favourable with each set costing a fiver for around twenty stickers. There is no rumour in the truth that one of "TAFF" is worth six of "EDDIE"

25 March 2008

Despite having a year to arrange the date for our Annual General Meeting, the committee are pleased to announce that the 2008 AGM will be held on Sunday at 12 oclock at the Railway Guard in Epsom.  That gives everyone a full 5 days notice.  See you there.

14 March 2008

Its official.  We are going to Ibiza in September.  We have enough definite runners already but obviously the more the merrier.  If you want to have a look at Ibiza Cricket Clubs website the link is below.  Eddie is booking flights and rooms soon.  We are planning on flying out on Friday 12 September early in the morning and catching the 02.30 flight home early Monday.  Approximate cost for flights and accomodation will be around £175 per person.  Please remember we will be ambassadors for our country.

11 March 2008

The Hannibal has been hard at it again.  He has been filming individuals in the nets over the past couple of weeks.  We now have a page dedicated to his work.  Its imaginatively titled Watch The Films.  Good work Mike!.

11 March 2008

Hungerford has spent some time working out averages and stats for the 2007 season.  They are in the 2007 archive.  Thanky you Nigel.

10 March 2008

With regret the committee have accepted the resignation of Club Treasurer Disco Del Boissiere.  As a founder member of the OLCC and a committee member since day one he will be sorely missed.  However it is worth remembering that his sole contribution to the OLCC last year was turning up 2 hours late for a meeting, extremely drunk with an even drunker oaf in tow, parked the magic car on Taffs lawn, passed out on the sofa and snored throughout the remainder of the meeting before wetting himself.  Nigel Gouldsmith has kindly agreed to look after our lack of funds and has assumed the role of Club Treasurer.

28 February 2008

Congratulations from everyone at the OLCC to Mr & Mrs Bush Hertig who today added a baby boy to their collection.  Not sure of name & weight etc but if I was to have a wild guess I reckon they will call the little chap Damo or Bruce or something.  Anyway well done.

14 February 2008

Please note our final fixture of the year in an away match against the 2007 Balearic Cup champions Ibiza Cricket Club at their place in San Antonio on 13 September 2008.  Thats 7 months notice.  So start saving your pennies now.  "What Goes On Tour Stays On Tour"  t shirts will  be available very soon.  Pills available from Rich T.
