From the ashes of the legendary League of Gentlemen FC, the finest football team ever to grace the killing fields of Surrey and South London, has risen the Old Leagonians Cricket Club. Dedicated to continuing the tradition of heavy drinking, drug abuse and sporadic and spontaneous violence that made our forefathers so notorious, we are aware we walk in the footsteps of gods. The legend continues. Lock up your daughters. You have been warned.
Established in late 2002, we have now completed our sixth season. Playing on Sundays primarily at our home ground at Fortress Alexandra in Epsom we have made steady and continued progress. The fact that progress has been predominantly downward is unfortunate. Led by a procession of inept and inadequate captains, we have stumbled blindly from one thrashing to the next. Last year we even decided to take our troops abroad in pursuit of easier opposition. Unsurprisingly we found the ex-pat community if Ibiza far too good and suffered two horrible beatings there as well. Still, on the plus side Ernie English has been chosen to lead us in 2009. He cant do any worse than the previous occupants of the position. Can he?
